Console lid won't stay open

The console storage box is difficult to use, especially while driving, because it is hard to hold the lid open with the same hand you are using to retrieve items from the box while the lid rests on your wrist. Clearly, it can't be a two-handed job when driving. Anyone have a hinge that doesn't make the lid close if you move your hand or a lid that opens to more than about 11 o'clock rather than 12 or 1 to stay up?Thanks for your help.

get the double big lid that usually stays open because of the weight (03-04 vibes had it not sure about 05's though). otherwise you "should" be concentrating on driving not monkeying with things
