Does anyone have a 2009 Vibe 1.8L with the Cargo Management System? Mine was ordered seperate from the car (dealer was not able to order), and I have been waiting 4 months for it. None of the dealers in my area can even pull it up on their parts ordering. Also, the chrome exhaust tip I ordered apparently will not fit because it was designed for the '03-'08 model.
The Cargo management system isn't just an add-on. They need to replace the cargo panel in full. I didn't think it was optional on the 1.8L model. My cargo cover took almost 3 months to arrive from the factory so I'd say that a 4 month wait for this part is (sadly) pretty normal. This part isn't really supposed to be sold separatly so they probably don't have much spares on their hands. It is pretty usefull though.... I was the first one to laugh at it but I found myself using it every week to hold the groceries in place.

The part goes for $150 on the website. Unfortunately I had to argue with the dealer in order to get it. It is listed in the brochure as Standard on all 2.4L models and optional on the 1.8L. The dealer placed the order for the car and then followed up with the Cargo Management System afterwards.
Yea... I got stuck without a cargo management system in my vibe, too.I hope it works for you. Then I'll get it.Next time you're at the dealer, look at the part that was ordered. Then look at the cargo floor. The pattern doesn't fit, so I didn't even try to order it.so the thing is, does cargo floor have another part number? Is it avail for us?

Funny you mention that about the part number. I went to a different dealer who looked up the part and actually had one at the dealership and it not even near what is advertised on the brochure/website.I am hoping (giving the benefit of the doubt) the dealer only used the part number as a placeholder for the actual part. I was told both parts (on a "WE OWE") a chrome exhaust tip, and cargo management system, are not compatible with the '09 Vibe. I am anxious to see what I get.Yikes.
Ahhh, this can only get worse.I have been told by the dealer that the Cargo Management System must be installed at the factory. So they delivered my car without a part I paid for.

After 5 weeks of plugging and prodding the dealer, I finally got my Cargo Management System. After being told it was a factory install, being offered a refund, and told the wrong part was ordered; the GM took a CMS out of a showroom car and placed it in mine. What took 5 weeks was resolved in 15 minutes. Unbelievable.
I was going to get the cargo storage system with my 1.8. But when I looked at one when picking up a "car from stock" the other day, I found the storage system to be totally worthless. When you lift up the lid, it has 3 compartments that can hold nothing more than a few maps. Don't waste your money. The storage that comes on all the Vibes is in two sections: the smaller section towards the rear seats can actually hold your jumper cables. The "larger" storage area where the spare tire is can hold a few things on top of the spare tire, and can store some tools to the right of the tire. Again, this storage organizer is for small flat objects (at best). Don't waste your money.
Are you sure about the cargo management system? When I lift my compartment lid, I have 3 sections with two nets in between, giving me 3 paper shopping bag size areas with shopping bag hooks. (see attached picture in previous posting). I get full utilization from it and I've only had it for two days. I'm liking it quite a bit. It was worth the fight for it!
So, it cannot be purchased later? Doesn't sound like the install was all that difficult. Maybe it will eventually become available.Do you think that you could figure out a way to get the fold flat front passenger seat for the 1.8L?
Correct. There really was no install involved, which I told the dealer from day 1. The GM just slid out the panel in the back and took one from a showroom car and slid it in. No installation needed. The actual part is not sold on GM's accessories page and my Pontiac dealer does not have an updated catalog (if one even exists). I ordered mine with the car, but the dealer did not order it, and as a result, the dealer had to take one out of another vehicle. The salesman had a point. He asked, If a car gets into an accident, how are the parts ordered to get it back? If I were you I would push the dealer and/ or parts department to find out, otherwise they will put your request on the back burner. As far as the front fold-flat seat, I haven't looked into it.

There is a main cargo system as shown in alphafelix's posts http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...6.jpg and there is a second section almost up to the rear seats which is pretty useless. But they are 2 different things. The big one can swallow my weekly groceries and hold it in place without any problem. The smaller one can't do anything.

no, I was definitely talking about the cargo storage system that pops up. I guess it may be called a cargo management system because it definitely is too shallow to store anything more than paper maps once the lid is lowered. Yes, you can raise it and put three grocery bag to keep them from sliding around. My point was/is, you can't store a thing inside them and put the top down. To keep things from sloshing around the back area, I plan on puting in a cargo net, tied to the four metal anchor grommets. I'll then put the cargo shade (foldable) on top to keep peering eyes out. The smaller storage are you pointed out does hold a full size set of jumper cables, but you are right, otherwise it is pretty dead space.
I think what Maxx4me is trying to point out is that the new 2nd Generation Vibe's that do come with the Cargo Management System have less storage space compared to the models that come without it including the 1st Generation Model. One option is to purchase an interior cargo organizer. Thule, Rola, and a few other companies make them. Some models are collapsible and/or they can be removed. Not to mention, the mode's Rola have can be found for under $60.00 which is far less expensive that the factory option. http://www.rolaproducts.com/sh...izersAs for the exhaust tip, you may want to call your local Toyota Dealer, see if they have one in stock for the 09 Matrix; good chance it may fit.

That should keep my frisbee from flying around the cargo area No problem and they say one person can not change the world. I for one would rather not have the cargo management system, have the deeper cargo options like the older generation, and then purchase what I posted above. Less expensive and more versatile one would think. It it like having cake and eating it too!

I measured and it is a 2.5" diameter. I saw a couple of cool LED tailpipes on overstock. Search on PYLE exhaust. Also at Autozone, they have some cheap ones for $10 up to $25.
