Speaker Wiring Cornfusion

Post by englishjg »

Hi. I just replaced my HU and removed my faulty stock amp. The HU replacement was fast, easy, and flawless... I have a 2004 Moon and Tunes (no navigation) system in my Vibe (I should say HAD)... anyway... When I removed the amp, I had to jumper the speaker wires at the connector, rather than cut wires. All the documentation I found out there that showed the wiring of the connectors were different than my actual wiring. For example, I verified that my Vibe has the UZ6 option on the factory sticker. I checked the UZ6 jack diagrams with Metra, and someone had posted some diagrams here with connector mappings. I ran into problems when trying to jumper the speakers. Bottom line, I manually mapped out my connectors, and they proved to be what Metra calls the "Pontiac Bonneville 2002-04 w/ RPO code UZ8" mappings.Has anyone else experienced this?Am I smokin' crack? It says Vibe on the outside of the car... Did I get a Bonneville by mistake? My Dad says I was switched at the hospital at birth... Was my car switched at the Dealer?Did they see me coming?Add your own Jimsults here...Thanks!!

Often times, connectors get used across the board... The schemes may be different, but the conectors are the same.... money savings....
