Bump Rubbers

Post by discojunkie76 »

So my teins came in and its telling me to cut the rubber bump stops. however im a bit confused about this rubber chart that they sent me it says cut "A" 1.2 for the front... 1.2 inches ? What exactly is that. Like in inch and a quarter? And how accurate do I need to be, I totally do not want to trash my car. What exactly is the shaded area on the chart mean? do I cut the amount from the shaded side? I don't know its kinda confusing. Soooo. Iknow one of you wonderful people will be able to shed some light on this subject. Also if any one took pics of the cut rubbers that would be awesome

it's not rocket science. It's just so the strut has more room to travel1.25 is an inch and a quarter. so 1.2 is very close only 50thousands off.or about 1/16th of an inch.If you look at your bump stops youwill see that it has ridges or shallow areas on the bumpstop. I didn't cut 1.25 inches off i think i cut off about .75 or3/4 of an inch which takes you to the first dent(ridge) in the bumpstop.

So 3/4 of an inch on the front is enough? cool, what about the rears, it lists .8 so would half inch be ok ? Or should I take off the whole .8.

Why not follow the instructions? You are concerned about messing something up... follow the directions then... You cut the bump stops to allow for the travel you lost by putting the springs on..
