ok ... I give up, I've hired a contortionist (she was cute), a midget, etc etc ... how the &^%& does that fusebox open????? I can;t believe its location ... that's alot of confidence on the part of Pontiac that a fuse won;t blow out ... HELP (LOL) PS --- might it be easier to remove the dashboard lower panel?????? How hard is that????I'm ready to cut a hole in that panel and install a cover so I can get to the fuse panel in the future.
Hahaha! There is a little tab at the front of the fuse box. Just push it in and pull up. lol EDIT: Oh, wait, the inside fuse box....hahahhaha...nevermind

i just layed on my back with my head near the peddles.....stuck a flashlight in my mouth and just unclipped the side that has the latch an it comes right off... i thought it was reasonably easy lol
ok, I'm an idiot , so I'm on my back, looking up at this thing ... can you give me some orientation as to where this release tab might be? pedal side, window side, seat side, cneter console side? I just can't see it ... if anyone has a photo, it would be helpful. My back will never be the same after this ... its not a pretty position for a 58 year old to be in ....

I love seeing threads like this!!! so much help and so quick thanks hskater26 :DThat's the best part of genvibe to hskater26I would have looked at mine, but I have cursed that fusebox location enough in the past, no good intentions were going to get me to run out and check. pingber, what fuse do you think you blew, what doesn't work?and you can probably thank the engineers at Toyota for that location
first prise goes to the engineres that put the oil filter above the exahust manifold and cat and below the computer on the Cavaliers. Possibly the worst design location for an oil filter I have ever seen.
Well it turned out NOT to be the blower fuse .... the blower wasn't working ...its died before after I parked the car and it rained or was very hot. This time, I tapped the blower housing under the dash a few times and it started up again ... any ideas? Loose connection somewhere? I don't think its the resistor pack since that would eliminate the low speeds on the switch. I don't think its the motor brushes since that's either working or burnt out.
