As a result of the east coast storms yesterday, I had to drive through a road-turned-river (literally water was on both sides, and I did not have a choice -- it was either park right there, or drive through one of the two, and I picked what appeared to be the lesser of two evils). The Vibe made it out, seemingly without any engine problems, though it did try to stall out on me by the end (the water was high enough that it was coming in the door at the highest point for a brief moment). Anyway, today it's still running great, going to do an oil change because I needed one anyway, and have 'em check everything out.. except there are two large, flat pieces of moulded plastic hanging off the front of my car, basically between the two tires. They appear to be attached, and I'm guessing the pressure of the water coming in broke off the mounts that were attached to the front of them. I tucked them in so they weren't dragging across the ground and everything seems fine... but I can't figure out where the heck these things came from, what they do, or if they're important! Or most importantly, how to put them back up.Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'll try to get some pictures during my lunchbreak.
I'm guessing it's probably the Under engine shields. Mine are kinda just hangin too. I'm not 100% sure, since they were kinda hanging when I bought the car, but I'm guessing that they were just held on by those plastic pop-screws.

I busted one of those off when I was doing a drain & fill on my tranny fluid. I've been meaning to get under there and pop all of them out and switch them to standard bolts. One of these days...

I'm sorry to hear about that I suggest you feel all the floors for water...on mine water got through the bottom of the door! I'm dropping her off tomorrow to get this finally taken care of.
judging from how you said you popped them back into place, would i be correct in assuming that you just put it above the bumper? if they aren't there you should really get the clips and screw that attach to the bumper cover and the liner. that liner is not cheap to replace, well, neither is the clip. but $10 for a clip is better than $80 for the clip and a new liner.
