Need some Montreal Help

Post by Sputnik »

I'd love to post this entirely in French, but I'm afraid I don't know enough to do so. Anyway today my bf and I were each given a ticket to the Canadian F1 Grand Prix (my bf and I work together) in the silver grandstands. We were wondering what the best way to get there is... should we drive? Should we take a VIA train from Ottawa into Montreal? I've read its best to take the metro to the circuit Gilles Villeneuve - is the train station far from the circuit? Merci beaucoup!

The train station os a little far away from the circuit, but it sit on a metro station.I highly recommend to take the metro (station Jean Drapeau or Ile Notre-Dame, depend if the map been updated).Getting access to the site by the Jacques-Cartier bridge by car will be a pain in the neck. So, if you want to take your car, go ahead but take the metro to access the race site, it will be much easier.

I don't go to Montréal very often but I highly recommend you to park your car near a Métro Station and go to the site of the Grand Prix by the Métro. You'll really appreciate your trip this way. Bon voyage!

Thanks for the info... I think the train is out. It arrives too late on Sunday. We aren't really keen on driving in Montreal... maybe the Voyageur bus... is it near the train station? We will take the metro from however we are able to get there.

The train station will leave you at a different Métro station on a diffrent line then the Bus. Train end at the Bonaventure station and the Bus at the Berri-UQUAMThe bus looks the best way to go. It leave you at the Berri-UQUAM Métro station. You have to pass through thie station to go to the circuit. Juste pick the yellow line and you can access the circuit from the Jean Drapeau station.

No thanks - I really have no desire to drive in downtown Montreal. Traffic stresses me out.

quote:Actually I think I found it! Its right at the Berri - UQAM station right? Or very near there?Yes, it's very near the Berri-UQAM Métro Station. You only need to cross a street and go down some stairs... I went there one time and I know it's very near. The bus station is at «505 de Maisonneuve Est, Montréal». I found this info on http://www.orleansexpress.com/e/horaires/index.htm. You just have to pick "Montréal" and a different destination in Québec and you will find the address of the bus station.

Thanks. I was looking at Voyageur's website and they didn't list the address. Just said "Montreal."

Got my bus tickets today. It says theres a bus leaving Ottawa at 7 and getting to Montreal at 9:20 am. Hopefully this is enough time to get to the track and get comfy before the race at 1. I will take some photos.

A representative offered to a co-worker and me some tickets for the race on Sunday. I am very happy!!! I will be the first time for me. We will drive to the south shore of Montréal and we'll take the Métro too. We will be seated at the exit of the «Épingle» (I don't think there is a word in English for that curve...)Sputnik, where are your tickets located?

We were located in turns 1 and 2 right at pit exit in grand stand 12. Here's a photo of Schumacher after the win.

Yes, I consider that I was lucky to attend the GP. On my ticket, for Sunday only, it's written 205 $. But I didn't have to pay for it... quote:BTW, Shummi won (again) and Jacques Villeneuve didn't completed the race (as usual)I'll bring imy Vibe.
