Seeing how XM and Sirius have merged, there would be no long term logic to changing out the receiver, as I am understanding that before the end of the year you will be able to receive sirius content on XM receivers.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
it's not the content that is the problem, it's the satellites, xm ones are stationary and sirius ones are geosynchronous i think, the 3 sirius ones always rotate the earth with 2 in site at most times, xm is not like that, and the signal strength up north here sux on xm, each time i drive by a building, or trees (not under them) i loose xm, but sirius is always fine. As for the merger who knows what that will bring.....
I would also like to switch. I like Sirius. I have Sirius(Howard Stern and NFL). I don't like the plug and play unit I have. I would rather have a stock look. It's my understanding that next month they are going to offer an ala carte menu. For an extra $4 a month you can have a Sirius package added to your XM account. While that is a solution, it doesn't quite sit well with me. If I am a sirius customer, I should get both on my factory unit for my regular subscription. I just got my '09 at the beginning of the month, so I have my 3 free months of xm. I'm going to wait and ponder a bit more. I hope a fair solution will come about.
yeah, that will help people who have good coverage living in the US, but not us up here in northern canada, and i already bought a lifetime sub to my sirius and xm don't even offer that deal.
