Today (9/16) is the 100th anniversary for GMGM has put out a lot of really cool cars, and I have owned various GM cars over the years, but of all of those, I've liked the Vibe the most.
I attended the pre-one hundredth anniversary in downtown Flint a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Let's face it... all car shows are fun. Since my pension is provided by GM, I obviously hope they continue to exist for many years to come. It's very hard to understand how a company that at one time had over 80,000 employees in Flint, Michigan can now have somewhere around only 7,000. Time changes everything.

I grew up near a Ford plant and everyone worked there and earned a great wage to raise a family on but that plant cut back and then closed years ago. Let's hope GM and Ford can reinvent themselves and hang on to their lineage.

A sad situation for GM's 100 year mark. This was 'The' automobile company. I hate to see what dunderheaded leadership has done to this entity. They seemed to have their heads in some other continuum, thus missing most of the significant changes occurring around our little planet, especially the last 3 decades! I guess they just felt it was easier to continue to bang out the same product. Reality bites sometimes, but if you ignore it, it eventually bites worse. Unfortunately, the workers end up with the real short end of the stick when companies can't deliver. And it harms the whole country. Let's all hope that GM turns this demise around and becomes the successful company that it could be again. Our Vibe is a really good car, but it has a lot of Toyota DNA. Without that DNA, would the Vibe have been the wagon/crossover (I like... micro utility transport- MUT) version of the Cavalier/Cobalt???
