what seems to work and look best to protect hood/bumper?Never was a big fan of those bras because of flapping, scratching(don't need more of that) but covers up areas prone to damage as does 3m but costly and no use if allready chipped I suppose.
3m all the way. and you are very wrong to believe that it does no good if you already have a few chips. 2 days in the new car, already had a couple but we touched them up a little before adding the clear bra. let's just say the 3M helps protect the car from chips as well as me running into things so it doesn't scratch up the car near as much.in fact, I took out the neighbor's garbage can last winter in the LGT. the bumper flexed and so did the paint. so it was all spidered up. then some jerk ran over the top of the passenger side bumper, but luckily most of the damage was in the 3M bra. so, last month, I had the body shop remove the clearbra and repaint the bumper. it looked brand spanking new! Even that scratch on the passenger side was completely gone! If I didn't have the 3M on there, I wouldn't have had any paint left on the bumper itself and the scratch would have been so bad, I'd have had to replace the bumper itself.
