In my part of Kansas, most students arrive at college with either a pickup truck, their Mom or Dad's 80's huge Buick/Olds/whatever american made, or the cheapest little cars made by any company. Sure there are exceptions. But so far I'm the only one in the main Student/Faculty parking lot with a Vibe (I'm faculty). That may change by this fall, though, as more Vibes are sold.KSNeptune
The auto companies seem to be missing their targets with these new crossover/hatchback/minivan/whatchamacallits. First, Chrysler comes out with the Plymouth PT Cruiser (well, is was supposed to be a Plymouth) -- it's stated target customers: young, 20-somethings. The average age for PT Cruiser owners is late 40's. Then Toyota and Pontiac follow with the Matrix and Vibe. The stated purpose of the vehicles is to bring in younger buyers to the Toyota and Pontiac families. The average age of buyers for both appears to be 40+. All 3 vehicles are very successful but with a much different buying group than intended. Whatever group was the original target or is now the principal buyer, I'm just glad they make 'em.

Yeah, I'm a student at George Mason University. I bought my Vibe GT over a year ago and still love driving it every day. I can carry my friends, bikes, kayaks, camping gear, and all kinds of stuff. Plus it is so fun to drive. I can't wait to purchase my CAI!
Justin 2003 Vibe GT - Mille Miglia Evo5 18x8 Wheels (now stock)- Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust (now stock)- Tein S-Tech Springs (now stock)- Injen CAI - Red Painted Calipers - Hella Supertone Horns - Polk Speakers - Bazooka RS8A-HP Sub - Kenwood Headunit - Still love my Vibe, but I've just turned it back into a basic daily driver.
Actually, I should have been more clear. My goal is to buy and install one sometime this summer, but I'm also trying to make sure I save enough money for school. To answer your question, I'm planning on purchasing the Injen CAI. But, yeah, I still can't wait to buy one!

I think I will probably just go with the polished model. My Vibe is Shadow colored, so I don't think the red or blue would match very well. What do you all think? I really like blue and red, but not sure if it would go well with the Shadow paint.

I have the shadow too...i've been thinking about getting the blue one! Then if I added any neon, then it would go perfect! I do have blue tireflies (hardly ever put them on.) With the CAI we would have the "true student's cars!" LoL
