Troubled water ahead

Post by Sublimewind »

Hi all,I don't normally do this, but my dad is getting ready to have another bout with cancer... It started in the spring, with Prostrate, where he had half of his frozen with cryo-surgery, it wasn't bad to begin with and was caught early.. Alls been well... Then he recently had a lump take out of his neck area, wasn't a lymph node, just a mass.. Had a few biopsies taken in the nose throat area and it turns out that something near his tongue, looks to be the source... He'll be having a PET scan here on the 11th, that should show if there is anything else they need to worry about... Right now, he's listed as a class 2 (4 being the worst) so at least that's promising... My GFs mom, kicked class 4 uterine cancer, so, I'm quite hopefulThey are talking radiation and chemo... I know many of you have had to deal with these things, we are all getting older and our parents, loved ones and friends, all are to... We can't escape it, so do we just simply try to except it? That is usually how the men in our family do it... I don't know, it seems to be hittin me, kinda hard, all of a sudden.. Seems more so, as I put it on this page.. I'm not a praying man, but, I know some of you are, please drop a good word for us if you don't mind.. Thank you,Aaron

Thanks bro, means a lot... I know in this day and age, technical merricals happen all the time.. I doubt this needs one... but it's nice to know that it's all out there. My dads a Billy Goat, so it shouldn't be a problem... He's spent so much time burning it at both ends, I don't know how this is going to effect him... time will tell... thanks again

Sorry to hear! Weird. My dad also had Prostate cancer (caught early, too) 2 years ago and has also had some lumps removed from his throat, enlarged thyroid glands, cancer free. But still a pain in the neck. I dad could only whisper for a few months, which was kinda nice cause he is a super loud talker. His voice is back to normal now and still cancer free. But, he doesn't talk so loud anymore. Best of luck to your dad. Him and your family will be in my prayers.

He did the best thing by having it checked. So much love he has for his family! I wish him, and your girlfriend's mom all the best! My father was the type of guy who never went to the doctor. By the time he was in pain from colon cancer, it was too late. Those over 50+ ask your dr. for colonoscopy at your next physical exam...these tumors can go undetected for years. Ladies too, don't forget the yearly exams, NOT fun either, are very important. ~for the love of your family~

I'll be happy to say prayer in your behalf. I encourage that you do it too. The big guy is always willing to listen. He's cool that way.
