Hey GenVibe. I've been coming to this forum for a while now, looking at other peoples' vibes- but I never joined until now.My name is erik, I'm from metro Detroit. I'm a web designer.I just got my Vibe tinted - what do you think?Vibe details:2006, Lava, Base modelCustom stripesTint on front/back (50/20 respectively)Vibe Pics:
thanks SLORegal.most people, unfortunately, think HTML means hotmail. that is not the case, however, and the ones who know this really enjoy seeing it. I get waves all the time. I even googled my plate number and found some random person's flickr account with a picture of my car on it. i laughed.
well, I'm not sure yet. I'd like to get a few things done.... but like I said, I'm not too smart when it comes to cars, so I don't know if my decisions to mod my car would really be wise ones. With tinting, it's pretty easy. They're just windows. But with something like new rims or something else that affects an important part of the car that makes it run- i'm clueless as to whether there are rules to follow or you know.... ANYTHING, really. I just don't know where to start.I'd love to get some nicer rims.... but I'd prefer not to get new tires if possible, but I know that's probably unrealistic. Standard vibes have 16" wheels right? what's involved with getting bigger rims? how do you know how big you can go?I'd also like to get the "sports package" which includes the two spoilers. I didn't used to like how they look but it's growing on me.I'd also LOVE to do some kind of sweet design either on the hood or the sides of the car or something. I'm a web/graphic designer so I'd love to design something myself so I can call it my own and it would be extremely unique, but I don't know where to start on that.at the very least, I wanna get some all-weather floor mats and fix my windshield (huge crack at the bottom all the way accross), and touch up my paint (I drive a lot on the highway and get rocks chipping the paint off). Probably need to get a bra or something protective too. not sure where to start on that.so yeah- that's pretty much why I joined these forums..... I figure I'll ask questions about stuff and y'all will help me "pimp" my vibe.

Standard vibes have 16" wheels right? what's involved with getting bigger rims? how do you know how big you can go?Just upgraded mine earlier this month... there are members on here that have gone as big as 19", most roll with 17" or 18" just know the bigger the rim the less rubber/air between your rim and the road, hence a harsher ride quality. The key is to keep the overall diameter of the wheel/tire the same as it is now for odometer accuracy. Also there are many threads on offset ranges (mine is 42mm, I believe stock is 38mm) and the bolt pattern is 5x100. The search function is your friend on all things wheel related. There are also many others on this forum much more seasoned on this subject than I am, I'm sure you will have a ton of replies soon Quote, originally posted by erikwoods » I'd also like to get the "sports package" which includes the two spoilers. Ebay might be your best bet there. There is one place I have heard of from other members...spoilerxpress.com where you can get the two spoilers as aftermarket replicas. They are the cheapest I have seen them and are supposedly good quality.I'm a graphic designer as well and would like to do the same. I recommend vinyl graphics but it all depends on your design, a custom paint job may be more appropriate. For vinyl any illustrator or eps file will work and give you the best quality resolution being that it is vector-based art. If you are incorporating photography of any sort it will work too, think of any vehicle with a four-color advertisement on it. However, the cost will be significantly higher for printed vinyl. There are a ton of options depending how much you want to spend. Hope that helps a little
