Post by magickarle »

Hi guys, I tried to look for this info but not available to find it: I got a Vibe 2004 automatic AWD and was looking for a supercharger. It seems it's not available fow AWD.So you know the reason? If it's not available, then the only thing left is turbo right? Thanks

First, the 'factory' GM(Pontiac) and TRD(Toyota) supercharger kits are no longer being manufactured for the Vibe or the Matrix. A few dealers may still have one in inventory. Occasionally one still appears on eBay. No, the 'factory' supercharger kit was never 'officially' released for the Vibe AWD or the Matrix AWD. In spite of that, several Vibe and Matrix owners have installed the automatic-transmission version on AWD Vibes. Here's an old GenVibe thread that discusses the issue --> http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=28364A user with the handle 'Greenfire' did successfully supercharge an AWD Matrix. Eventually, the engine broke, but he never encountered problems with the AWD as a result of supercharging.Use the 'SEARCH' function in the Forced Induction forum to look for more information.Good luck!

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

welcome!Yes some people did SC the awd. I think the reason behind yota from not doing it officially was because they didnt think the awd system and tranny could take higher hp/torq mods well. But from what ive seen it does it fine as long as you dont go over the top

If you kept the stock intake and TRD/GM piggyback set-up for the S/C you should be fine. I would highly recommend an additional engine oil cooler and tranny fluid cooler. The S/C is a tremendous heat monster. Good luck finding one. There are occasional used sales on 9thgencorolla.com
