I've had a problem with my driver's seat for at least 3+ weeks now, probably since I picked up the car. I probably didn't notice it being in new car bliss for the first week... Anyway, the seat makes a clicking sound every time my weight shifts in the seat. Going around bends, corners, getting in or out. Finally got annoying enough for me to get it looked at last week.I eavesdropped on the service manager and the parts guy at the dealer discussing what part to get. The parts guy stated that the parts catalog for 09 Vibes is a disaster, poor diagrams, many part #s referencing the same physical part. Anyway, the service manager says they aren't sure if they need a right side assembly for the seat frame, or a whole new seat frame, and that they need to call GM on Monday (this was a week ago today).Yesterday, I got a phone call from the dealer. Pontiac sent them an entire new drivers seat. They said they had never seen that before... Hopefully that is a good thing - replace everything, no worries about the wrong part being put in and having the problem still exist! So Monday evening I get the seat replaced. I hope this is a simple operation, with no risk of anything else getting messed up!

Does the seat seem to be loose and have some play on the track or do you think the popping and clicking may be from the lumbar support area? Try adjusting the lumbar support all the way up and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, take it to the dealer and pass along the information.

We just bolt them to the floor. GM and I'm sure Toyota has outsourced the seat assemblies for some years now. its easier to replace a whole seat and charge the vendor for the warranty cost.

This one doesn't seem as bad as the last, but there is still "clicking" sound sometimes as my weight shifts in the seat. I would say they have a design problem, but I seem to be the only one having the issue...? Anyone else notice they have a "noisy" driver's seat? I have a suspicion it has something to do with the height adjustment hardware. I have the seat in the lowest position now, which seems to produce the least noise. So between this seat thing and the center cap disappearing off one of my wheels, my 2009 vibe has already tied my 2003 vibe for issues (2) in less than 2 months....

Does the new 2009 Vibe have lumbar support? You never did answer my original question and I would almost bet it is the lumbar support making the popping or clicking sound. These 2 issues are minor and will be corrected via GM/Toyota by next year, the 1st Gen and the 2nd Gen Pontiac Vibe is still an excellent car!

Only height, recline, and forward/backward slide adjustments.
