WTB: Nissan Frontier King cab, 4 cyl

Post by Blueridge9 »

Let's talk TRUCKS for a minute. We need help.We just started shopping for a used truck to replace our old, faithful, Nissan work truck. We're looking for a Nissan Frontier, King Cab (smaller than Crew Cab), 4 cylinder, manual, 2WD, years: 2000-2006, low miles, in charcoal, pewter or green. All the ones we see online are in Florida or California. We are in Virginia if anybody or a friend wants to sell theirs send me an instant message. Thanks,

I raced a Frontier 4 door S/C in my 02 Civic EX modded. Beat him from the line surprisingly.

We're still truck shopping.....Well we did not like the light silver color so we are still looking and drove a couple other Frontier's this morning but none has all the things we want and charcoal or pewter or green color. Seems few have manual tran and 2 wd, 4 cylinder. We keep seeing automatics, V6. We'll find it eventually.

We bought a "new" 2003 Nissan Frontier XE, King Cab, manual, 4cyl, 2wd truck. We found the pickup online in Florida thru Autotrader website. It is being transported next week by the dealer (no cost to us) so we should have it by Saturday, Sept. 6th. This will be a new brother for the Vibe which of course we are keeping. Here's a link to more pictures. http://s278.photobucket.com/al...Truck/

There are some very friendly and knowledgeable folks over at TUNFS if you're looking to learn some more about the new ride.

Truck transport delivery delayed from Orlando Florida area. They are "scrambling" to reschedule. They've had my money since last Friday night so I understood the delay for labor day. I told them to get it out Tuesday ahead of the storms. They agreed and said I'd have it in Virginia by SATURDAY, Sept. 6th. But the message last night/Thursday at 5:22pm that the transporter was not coming this way Now they are offering me $500 to fly down and drive the car back myself. I said you should have lined up a retired guy to drive it the 690 miles.I might cancel the whole deal and get a refund and start looking elsewhere.

Update - Well now we are talking to the owner not the salesman. When we said we wanted a refund $ last night it must have finally motivated the Dealer/Owner cause SUDDENLY he has a way to transport it here by Monday. So we are back on again and it should arrive Monday.

It did "work out in the end". We got the truck Monday night at 6:30pm. So now we can race Whelan sometime. It's kind of a weird/no frills way to meet a transport driver (not the salesman we've been talking to on email and phone) at a truck stop at night who just wants us to sign so he can get back on the road. Anyway it runs great, the engine is clean, fluids and tires are great, and body looks good but has a few scratches not obvious on the photos. Also the interior glove box is loose so we may be headed to a junkyard looking for that and a new antenna. We got it inspected today and then had extra keys made, bought floor mats and new wipers. We have a list of stuff we want to do to improve it soon as the budget allows.
