Is this the right way to drain and fill the trans fluid?1) Drain fluid2) Drop pan3)change filter and clean the screen (any idea on how much the filter cost?)4)reattach the pan (is there a torque value for the bolts?)5) Drop the car and fill with Toyota type-IX fluid (how many quarts? AND where do you add the fluid?)6) And finally, Take a cruise for 10 miles and check the fluid level. This is for an '04 Auto trans, any suggestions will be appreciated! And no, I will not get the trans flushed as it costs way too much and I'm thrifty (yes I understand the possible implications of not having a "professional" do a flush).

Add 3.5 quarts, start car, leave car running and check tranny oil level. Add more if needed. no pan drop is REALLY needed, if you do you'll need a new gasket and you only need to clean the screen..OH wait, so yeah only 4 quarts come out, but theres still like 12! so you have to do the drain/fill a couple more times so it looks cleaner. OR google auto tranny flush diy, and you can do some ghetto rigged way of getting it all out but its a lot of work.
