Rear window air deflector?

Post by Walks with a gimp »

Has anyone installed a rear window air deflector on their Vibe? The wife's Vibe collects dirt badly on the rear window and was wondering if there is one availabe for this car?

My vendor said it won't be before the end of September. Same thing for the folded mud guards. This really sucks bad and I can't understand why a model that's out for more than 6 months still has no accessories available. This is really not very "professionnal" for GM...The thing is that I see some Matrix 2009 with molded mud guards too...

Our Vibe is an '08 and I did install the front and rear mud guards. We live out in the sticks and have 2 miles of gravel to the highway. Just wanting to keep it cleaner..

I forgot to add that I did have the mud guards painted to match the car's paint, all Salsa red. I might try to find a piece of 3 inch aluminum tubing to section out and polish with matching brackets if I can't find anything. I can make about anything...

The GM top spoiler supposedly has no effect on crap accumulating on the rear window. I never tried one, but others have said it doesn't help. I'd expect that something designed to catch wind and force it to wash down across the rear window will hurt gas mileage. I put rain-x on the back window once, that was a mistake, made the water bead up and hang there, completely obscuring the view.
