Interior Road bike rack or tri bike rack

Post by austintaco »

Hello. I just joined in anticipation of my girlfriend getting a vibe soon. Currently, she drives one of my extra trucks, but she wants her own car so a vibe is what she wants. Anyways, I have been looking at the various threads on carrying a bike inside a vibe, and I even did a trial fit of my tri bike in an 03 Vibe. It will fit on its side, but its too tall without taking off the seatpost to fit standing up.Has anybody tried to do mount a road bike standing up by removing the cover for the spare tire carrier and setting the wheel inside that groove on the right side? Just curious if its been tried. If she gets it, I will post pics.

Someone may have tried it, but I don't remember right now... You might get them in rear first, having the forks on the floor in the hatch opening... I would think that any of the companies that make fork mount carriers, you could modify to fit the hatch cover easily enough... Maybe you could be the first.. I like hitch mount racks myself..

Yeah, we haven't even bought the car, and I am already planning on mods. I will post up if we get it.

That's pretty cool.
