Wireless Power!

Post by Whelan »

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20...intel It seems Intel has figured it out. They sent power wirelessly and safely to a 60W lamp on stage! Apparently they use Magnetic Fields instead of Electrical thus not harming us or anything around us. Think about it.-No more chargers, batteries, potentially power outtages due to downed wires in your street. It would be crazy! Walk around with your laptop charged all the time.I would think the next issue is keeping it ranged so that your neighbor is not using your power.

Yeah they did a Modern Marvel thing on History Channel about him and the AC current thing. His idea was not too far fetched from this one though. I assume electricity would get to be a general set cost depending on the area you lived in.

I wonder how well it will catch on, because we have lots of people complaining about "electro-magnetic" waves from power lines and how it "contributed to their cancer". If it's then inundating the air, what will the complaint be then.I am excited though about new technology. Guess they finally found a way to outsource power?
