why are we letting the matrix guys show us up!

Post by satur9 »

after so so attendence at meets lately (epic and notably ohio). ive been dissapointed with the decline in attendence at vibe rallys.(east northeast, mideast areas)the hcmo always seems to pull through thoughhttp://matrixowners.com/?showtopic=77512you may notice a few vibes on the lists me included. come on vibers we need to get back in the game!but for anyones whos interested there is another hmco meet in boston oct 24-26. mabey i will see some new vibe faces there! you can click rivot's sig to add yourself to roster or for more info.or go back out into forum from that topic. groups forum hmco subforum

Oh, boy.... here we go again...hopefully this thread will stay on topic and not get closed. http://www.usatoday.com/money/...N.htmI think that people are just not driving as much as they used to, to even go to the meets if it is not local. Look how much less people are driving in the US in general. In June of this year people drove 12.2 BILLION miles less than June of '07. Vibe meets are just not as high a priority as they used to be for a lot of people. They are just not spending as much time or money on them withe higher gas prices. Hopefully, with the new wave of the 3rd generation Vibes, people will get interested in meets again. Time will tell.

That, and there are more A.F. parts available for the Trix.I think less people modify their vibes and feel since they are stock they shouldn't come to a meet... (my first meet all I had was the tint on my windows)

I think this has been covered... many times over.I would like to go to the Boston meet, but it's a 14+ hour drive for me and I have plans for that weekend already. I'll see if I can make their Pittsburgh, PA or Michigan meet!

also, keep in mind the demographics of a Pontiac Vibe owner vs a Toyota Matrix owner. the Matrix appeals to a more younger mod friendly group while Pontiac has targeted a more fuel economic older or mature audience. Not saying there aren't exceptions, but you can see this difference pretty obviously just in the demographics of the 2 website forums. Still to this day, there are only 2 actual active Vibe (pre) owners on this forum: Mavrik and I that live up here, yet the Vibe is one of the most popular vehicles (AWD) you'll see driving around town. You can't go anywhere without tripping over at least one!

Wow...how the hell did I miss a Grand Rapids meet!?!?!?!?!? That's like only two hours away from me!!! I'm kinda upset actually...Maybe I should hang out over there more often ....and look at that turnout! That's how our meets used to be a few years ago in Michigan! I'm sad now I personally don't mind if this topic is posted 600 more times, maybe then people will understand why we keep bringing it up

Valid points. I am a forum for my 300C SRT8 and I didn't go to many meets that weren't within a couple hours. With gas prices where they are, and al the things going on every weekend ... tough to do them all.

demographic? ive been to most of those meets.(notice mine and all the REPEAT names.the are the same guys just like the us the type that go to meets.im not talking about new people per say. just the people that used to come dont anymore. while the original members there still go and new people go to.and gas? notice again that the same guys will drive pretty far sometimes. just to show up.this will be the second meet for hmco this summer/fall. i gurrantee most of the people from the michigan meet will be in boston me included.this isnt about demographic or gas. its about being hardcore(hmco). some of us used to be harcore . mabey they all sold thier vibes or something.but even some of the matrixowners that sold thier matrixes still come.what i think the real reason is people realized that as attendence dwindled they figured if nobody else is gonna show up they wont either.btw i think if meet info was posted first in vibe lounge first then linked to location forums. the people from other states that dont search thru the various states forums. might find out about meets that they otherwise wouldnt know about. (i almost missed a few michigan meets for that reason. well enough of the rant . i actually only posted the thread as a little pep talk and also to give people info about the boston meet(VIBES ARE WELCOME).. .and for next year lets not give dan tobin a reason not to host us(because only 4 cars showed up.versus previous years).okay im done.

oh and im not saying that dan tobin said they wouldnt host us.just the fact that if you got a party for 15-30 people and and like 6 showed up. youd be kinda pissed and might not want to do it again.
