Well,I ordered the replacement idler pulley. It comes in silver, not black. Shipped rather quickly. Now, how do I swap the pulleys? Is there just a bolt to remove the old one? If so, what is the torque specification for putting on the new one? Thanks!
Just the idler pulley, no bracket. I heard if the bracket is broken they will repair it if you send it in.I'll see when I can give you a picture, I lent my camera out to my brother for a little while. It's the same as the included pulley, except in silver instead of black. It matches the twinkle in my eyes
I thought it may have been the whole bracket. There was a guy on 9thgen selling idlers for $30 a while back,he may still have a few,I know it's too late now.Just tighten the 10mm bolt to 35 ft-lbs and you should be good. Now depending on the idler design and size, you may have to add/remove a shim or use a smaller size. All depends on how it tracks with the belt on.

Yes and no.The old belt stayed put and didn't ride up on the s/c pulley like the gatorback was.But I did remove a shim for the gatorback and I think I will add another to see if it will keep tracking straight. After that long drive I sort have gave the Vibe a rest.

Got it installed. The major difference between the stock one and this one is how the bearing is installed. The OEM one had the clips to hold the bearing in. This one is simply punched in.I now notice that my RPMs don't freak out when first starting up. Before my RPMs would go up, then down, then up......I'm assuming because of how the OEM pulley wasn't spinning freely.Starting to really hate the Gatorback Belt, though. It pulls a bit too tight. You pull a shim and it's too far on one side. Put a shim in and it's too far on the other side. What a piece of crap.
