New addition to the family...

Post by Sublimewind »

My gf has been needing a car for some time now... She's been driving a 91'ish GMC Jimmy for a bit over a year now, and it's been falling apart rather quickly... So, last night we took the 2+hr trip to Detroit and picked her up this little bad boy.. It's got it's bumps and bruises, it's an 05' with 60k on the ODO.. Manual, aftermarket wheels AND the stock wheels with tires (25mi on the tires woot)She's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy... she's been wanting one for longer than she's had the Jimmy... paid 5k... !!I've already got a system for it... Had all the parts for EVER now.. lol... go figure.. Components, a NICE 5ch amp and sub.. she's be in heaven..

I'm sure a 14yr newer vehicle will be nice for her. Not a fan of the car, but again, better than a falling apart 14yr old jimmy...Congrats Sublimewind's GF!

I'm seeing a pattern with the electric blue kinda color, lol.Agreed not my cup of tea, but better than an old flopped Jimmy for sure. Congrats and enjoy the cheap sparse fillups!

A short shifter to rid it of the mile long throw, the clutch is a non-linear travisty which i'll have to look into.. It's weird, because it's alost like it's slow for the first 3-4" of travel, than it moves as it should... odd... It needs some low-pro tires BAD (found some one fleabay for It's perfect for the GF... lol... ANYTHING was better than the jimmy, it was/is so far gone, the doors sag, like if you look at the hinge area, it went (top down) rust hole/hinge/bigger rust hole/ hinge/rust hole... lol..Quote, originally posted by bull77 »congrats --- whoever is in the vibe looks happy with the new car Most deffinitly....

What kind of car does it want to be when it grows up?

The Aveo gets a bad rap since it's made by Daewoo, but they're a decent car for the money. Great gas mileage, lots of storage room, and they look pretty good. I wouldn't buy a new one because they don't hold their value at all, but to get a used one for $5K, that's perfect.
