18"s with a 2.5" drop?

Post by steletma »

I'm planning on ordering a set of 18x8 rims for my dropped Vibe GT. I installed the progress springs and achieved a 2.5" drop all around. The space looks like it could take an 18 rim, but I want to find out if the new rims rub the wells or the inner fenders. Any feedback will be much appreciated.03' Abyss Vibe GTInjen CAI, TRD short shifter, TRD exhaust, AEM power pulley kit, Freedom Design Stress bar, Progress Comp. sport springs & anti-roll bar, custom carbon fiber interior, Panasonic reciever, neons throughout interior. Graphixwerks labelling on outside badging & rear brake light. RJC Technical Automotive & Detailing in Eastlake OH. specializes in all detailing/ performance needs. Including my Vibe GT.

i think maybe you should have bought the rims you wanted first, and then lowered it.

I prefered the lower stance rather than just the rims. I have no problem with 17s but would prefer to have the larger 18s if it would allow for it.

225/40r18 are actually smaller in overall diameter than stock 16's theres a 20mm difference in width so you might want to get a ruler and measure side clearance.but you should be okay if you stay clear of potholes and stuff.
