So, is this basically telling us that roughly stock Vibes/Matricies(?) are 130hp at the crank, and less than 115hp at the wheels?Darn, that sucks. How are those hypergrounds working out for ya, btw? ^_^

In fact, its too efficient to be true.Thats why many believe the stock hp is 140, and was played-down on the specs. So you are really losing more hp, not just 15. You're right. A base Vibe/Matrix is 140hp at the crank. A few dynos have confimed this. My horsepower at the crank is probably 155. I'm losing about 40hp with the auto. With a manual, I'd lose about 14% hp but the auto is causing an additional 10% loss. I'm guessing at the numbers between the addational loss though. It can be hard to say. The tech that did my dyno though also said I'm probably between 150hp and 160hp at the crank. I had no idea I'd lose so much power with an auto. Live and learn. quote:130hp at the crank, and less than 115hp at the wheels?Darn, that sucks.Actually, if you think how much power is lost to the automatic tranny, the 15hp hit really isn't bad at all. They hperground wires are working out great. I didn't do a comparison with them connected or not but another Matrix owner did at the same shop. He said they provided a 4hp increase. For $60, they're worth it. quote:So, is this basically telling us that roughly stock Vibes/Matricies(?) are 130hp at the crank, and less than 115hp at the wheels?Darn, that sucks. How are those hypergrounds working out for ya, btw? ^_^
quote:No overhead. There really isn't that much expense to making them. If you have the knowledge (I don't), you could probably make some pretty cheap. Might just check into that. I'm not sure if it works, but if I can do it myself its worth the fun of working on it. Thanks for the info Larry, good to see more Matrix owners posting in here.
