Working on my next vehicle

Post by Whelan »

Not that I don't love my Trix, but it may be coming time for an upgrade. I know I raved about the G8 and such, but I won't be working on the family so it's time to think Bachelor and manual transmissions again. I've narrowed it down to two vehicles. Next year I get my promotion and I will still be a little upside down in my trade in of the Trix. But here are the options.2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe2005 BMW 328 or 330CiBoth with manuals, they go right now for anywhere from high teens to mid 20's. I figure by next year I could get one a year newer possibly at the same price. So ideas or opinions. I know BMW has that name with it and they are great cars, but the G35 is a looker and the exhaust just drives me crazy to hear.

G35 has a sexy exhaust note,so I'd take that.Plus it would suit your style more.

I'd rather have the G8 GXP.

All I care about is that you stay here after the trade. We need you to take care of our car care needs.

I'm going to go against the grain and say the Bimmer.

Well considering it would be in my budget, I love BMWs, but for the money the G35 would be hot in white, with the 6speed, Bose, possibly navi if it was on the car. And the spoiler, have to have the spoiler.

the bwm's listed are generic and everyone has one. the g35 is more rare and maybe stereotypically owned by nicer people than bwms

Carmax has 05-06 G35s listed right now for between $19-25k. That's a good deal for a car with anywhere from 15-30k miles on it.

The G coupes look great. I test drove both a 2008 G37 manumatic and a new leftover 2007 G35 6MT back in April. Both cars are great, but if you have a choice, the redesigned G37 is quite an improvement IMO. Felt more refined, nicer interior, just enough tweaks to the sheet metal to update it.The G35 coupe was the sport model with stick, and it feels more like a sports car than a sport/luxury car. Rougher ride, more engine noise, the stick shift actually shook when driving. It was bright red, and if I had liked the feel of it more I might have bought it then and there, could have gotten a good deal on the old model. For my money and my more elderly posterior (age 50) I prefer the G37. Both cars are great, just a matter of what you want.

The new G37 is gonna be out of my price range still and I typically only buy pre owned. I love the engine in the car and the way it sounds out the pipes. The sport over luxury is fine with me. I'm looking to jump back into a manual two door more upscale car now that I've got things goin on in life. Most likely the condo will come first then the car. So we are talkin months away from now, that way the Trix will also be paid down more.
