Natural Disaster!

Post by mydogsowner »

Uh oh, I learned from my own mistake recently!I took ownership of my new Vibe last week and parked her out back, instead of out front where there's more traffic. There's a nice shade tree too, and I thought she would prefer the spot.Well, the birds prefer it too!I noticed some droppings here and there and waited about a day to get to them.I took it through a touchless wash and then took my towel to her.Now there are some dull spots in the clearcoat where the droppings were. I can't believe it happened so fast! We're talking less than 24 hours here!I went in and got out some wax and went over the spots. Still there! What's the best thing for me to do now? I hope I didn't make things worse with the wax/wash?It's not too noticeable, but I can see them.Lisa

Happened to me too. The best thing you can do is get some Megs #83 or #80 and give it a light polish, then wax it.

A little bit of rubbing compound on the spots should take care of it.

Thanks! It's good to know it's fixable now! I'd like to have the shine back on those spots.

You could also start with a good hand wash, then use some Bug & Tar remover on the spots to really get the chemicals from the droppings out of the clear. Then run it with some #80, then some NXT or Gold Class wax to touch up.

I don't know how we survived while you were gone.
