i've yet to see them actually driving around the city..but i have seen the new matrix more then once..specially the xrs one with the sunburst orange/copper color
I've seen at least 5 new ones driving around. I used to like it better than the Vibe, but when I saw it I had to look twice to figure out what it was. I find it just blends in and doesn't have anything that makes it stand out..
I'm currently in Augusta, GA (a tiny town) and have yet to see one '09 but of course I've seen four different Matrices so far Hopefully I'll be the first
I saw my first new Vibe at the Henry of Pelham Estate winery on the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario over the weekend. It was a white one parked next to my ’04 blue Vibe, & I didn’t see it until after I came out of the tasting cellar. The back end, especially, was sharp in the white with the dark taillight contrast.I went back in the tasting cellar & asked who had the new Vibe & if I could take some pix. A gal said it was hers, yes I could take pix, & asked me if I wanted her keys. I said, “Sure! You can have mine, & we’ll trade straight-up!†(I don’t think it was her first wine-tasting that afternoon. )I took a few pix, she came out, & we compared models. Sitting in the new one was a very different experience from a dash perspective. It seemed more angular & boxy to me. I like the rounder curves in my ’04. Amazingly enough, within 30 seconds of leaving the winery (my only tasting of the day), I saw another new Vibe (red) go by about a mile from the winery. I guess it’s not only wine country, it’s Vibe country, too! Oh, & last night, I saw a flat metallic-blue-ish, grayish new one. The color did not suit the style – it looked almost old. The white & red ones looked way better.
Small world! I live 10 minutes from Henry of Pelham winery and drop in often for a bottle or two. I pass by there often heading into St.Catharines...even just this morning. I now have my '09 GT in Mystic Blue, otherwise I only have seen a couple around. I will be getting pics up today or tomorrow. My wife has been out of town with the camera but comes home today
Hey farles, it is a small world, indeed! I’ll look for your Mystic Blue baby the next time I’m in the area (probably the weekend of May 24). I’ll be driving my blue ’04 base around the Canal (I’m a Boatnerd) & the Niagara Escarpment area (my newest obsession). Look for the Michigan plates & the propeller hitch cover (in the event of a water landing, of course). That area around the Henry of Pelham Estate winery is great for exploring the Escarpment. I’d love to rent a scooter or something of that ilk & run all over the place. And the wine was great, too. You live in a truly beautiful area, farles.
Thanks, I do love the area and am always finding neat little back roads to cruise around on and a new winery here and there. They seem to pop up all the time. Do you ever get up to Niagara on the Lake? Beautiful little town with lots of heritage and history (and a traditional pub or two). Yeah, let me know when you are around these parts next
niagara on the lake is awesome..i dont know where it is but my friend lives somewhere between niagara falls and fort erie..alone the river..very nice there
Beautiful area, where your friend is. It is a great cruise to take the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie right up through NF and then end up in NOTL. Takes about an hour if going easy and enjoying the sights Stephen King movie 'The Dead Zone' was filmed in NOTL. The gazebo is there in a park by the lake, and the tunnel scene is closer to NF and called the 'Screaming Tunnel' apparently haunted with a ghost. Neat stuff
