"Yuck."What were you and I thinking, KSNeptune!! Nothing is better than the Vibe hereafter, anymore, forever!! Look..I love my Vibe...but if I would have known about the Nissan Murano I would be driving one of those instead. Those are classy. I now have my eyes on the 2005 Chevy Equinox. I won't be trading in my vibe but I will have that Chevy. Some of us have eyes only for the Vibe (a beautiful vehicle), so much so that we criticize other vehicles (neons, anything by honda,). If you are one of those people, you need your eyes checked...and I know just the place to do it.http://www.liquidgeneration.com/sabotag ... tage.aspIf the shoe fits...wear it. Oh I still love my Vibe. And at the time I was looking for a car, the Vibe was THE coolest ride to be had. Murano was just a rumor then. But my Wife and I also have the 2002 Nissan Altima. With it's 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine getting 175hp, I can't even keep catch up to it much less beat it off the line in my Vibe. We could've gotten the 3.5l 6-cylinder engine in that Altima, but saw no point once we drove the 4.I bought the Vibe because it was the coolest looking car out there that could swallow furniture. The Base Vibe was a bit of a dog to drive compared to the GT, but the salesman promised a supercharger for it "Early 2003". They lied. The Murano is also a radically unique looking car that can swallow furniture. It is based on the '02 Altima's platform, but has the 3.5l 6 cylinder Nissan engine in it. With 250hp or so, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and metal trim around the guages. I don't "need" one, but would have bought one if I hadn't seen the Vibe first. Now I'm pissed off enough at Pontiac for dragging their feet with the Vibe's supercharger that I might just trade my Vibe for one.KSNeptune

I understand, KSNeptune. The Murano is a beautiful machine in my opinion. I wasn't directing my comments at you. As I said earlier...I would have one myself if I had known about them when I purchased my Vibe.-Savoy-http://www.iceestudios.com

quote:The SuperCharger is not out yet because they are having some issues with emissions. Just another stall tactic. The supercharger is installed on the INPUT side of the engine, not the output. IF the engine is burning the gas efficiently, whatever is left on OUTPUT is taken care of by the catalitic convertor. Give the engine more air and more gas with each stroke and it should produce more power in exchange. If it's not burning all the gas, then give it a little less. It should be nearly trivial (given they are using a computer module to control it all) to balance the mixture. Once balanced, the emissions should be just the same. I believe they have a perfectly fine prototype supercharger or two running around in Vibes. I also believe that GM is simply too big and inexperienced to be efficient at getting a performance part (kit) into production quickly. So your service manager either lied, was misinformed, or just made up something to get you off his back for not having a supercharger already.Go ahead, prove me wrong.KSNeptune

Toyota may be more to blame if they're the ones truly developing it (since it is a toyota engine). I don't see the Matrix dealers selling SC's either ... just being devils advocate here.Still, pontiac was the one that told you it would be available early 2003, and they shouldn't have said that if it wasn't a firm date. Salesmen, cheats, and liars.I love the Murano. I was really disappointed when I found out how much it costs. And I love the infinity FX-45 even more!! If I only had $40,000 burning a hole in my pocket, it would be MINE! At least, with some effort, I could afford the vibe. It's easy to make a $40K car look cool, but I respect an auto company that makes a $20K car look cool.

I agree. To my knowledge, Toyota is developing the SC or contracting with another company to have it manufactured for them. I'm not sure what the reason for the constant delays are. And the Murano is very nice IMO, but it's really in a different price category than a Vibe. Not really a fair comparison. quote:I also believe that GM is simply too big and inexperienced to be efficient at getting a performance part (kit) into production quickly. You guys! ....I got tired of waiting for the SC...I figured It would be this way.....I got tired of waiting on the emerging West coveina turbo..that is not even released for the Celica yet! And even withe the 3000.00 turbo sys,...I have not spent 20k yet on my vibe....I am not sure when SF will release their kit....maybe after the matrix guy and I have logged a few miles on our cars ,which combined is 10k, and I heard that some one called Mech tech..is realeasing a turbo Kit...I understand aoubt worrying about reliability, and warrenty issues....swhich makes the SC a good thing.....but every one will be trading in their Vibes/Matrixes , by the time the SC comes out!!!I am not regretting not waiting for the realease of the SC!!which will be really cool when it comes out!
