Cost to GM to replace window bolts

I briefly saw the dealer copy of the work order. The labor listed was $78 and the bolt a few bucks.I had a LOF done at the same time - was in and out in under an hour.Wonder if the company that supplied the defective bolts has to cover that.

Likely, the "defective bolts" were really defective engineering for the secure point/technique. To my knowledge, the bolts were backing out, not simply shearing under the stress. Given that they were backing out, it is likely that the engineer simply was not conservative enough in his vibration assumptions through the window channel. It could have also been something like a last minute savings cut (either new supplier or slimmer material, etc) could have impacted the NVH properties without a proper analysis.Translation: This stuff happens. Since it isn't a specific material defect, I'm taking my money to Vegas and placing it all on GM is covering the cost.

Aside from who pays - I thought the $78 labor was quite generous for a job that obviously took less than 1 hour.

$78 an hour doesn't seem unreasonable considering all the overhead costs for a dealer service center.what is an LOF?

they usually bill by average "how long this job should take" even if it took 20 min they still get paid 1 hour to the shop.speaking of which my sister just had this done to my old vibe, i guess the window start to make loud noises after i sold it
