Not sure what you're suggesting we check on the pump before using it. If it's miscalibrated I'd only notice that after getting a fillup and comparing the amount to what I expected based on the ScanGauge reading. Nothing I read in the report indicated by how much the pump volumes were off. That would have been more useful information than telling us what percentage of stations had one or more pumps with incorrect calibrations.
they showed in the video news report that the pump would put in several cents of gas without actually putting gas in. before even squeezing the trigger.
I would have no idea if I was getting ripped off or not. I agree that this is very wrong, but if it was charging me an extra $0.50 I wouldn't be able to tell.

the way you tell is watch the display before you put the nozzel in your tank and pull the trigger... The ones with the issue start charging and the display reads gas has been released b4 the you do anything.The key is when you pick up the nozzel and select your grade b4 you do anything else, WAIT and make sure the display dosent start b4 you do.This is what has been happening.
