Turtle Wax Ice?

Post by watcher7479 »

I was watching TV the other night and saw the info-mercial for the turtle wax ice system, the one with the liquid clay bar, wax, polish and spray detailer and was wondering if anybody had any opinions on it or has tried it out, I was thinking of buying it but wanted to get some input on it, thanks in advancehttp://icepolish.com/

Thumbs up on this product. I just bought the wax and clay bar myself (I haven't used it yet). My Dad and his neighbor use it on their cars. It's great because it doesn't leave that white crap everywhere. I don't know if that online offer is a good deal or not, but you can buy some of the products in stores.

Turtle Wax Ice is essentially a syntehtic wax instead of the typical Carnuba based. So it would be equivalent in wax form to Meguiar's NXT Gen Tech Wax (aka #26). The spray product would be equivalent more so to Eagle One Wax-As-U-Dry and not the Meguiar's Quick Detailer as the QD is used when the car is dry and for wiping off things like fingerprints and smudges. The clay bar is a clay bar, no matter which one or brand you choose as long as they are for automotive, they are all pretty much the same.Meguiar's still has a better product with much more R&D and work time associated with them. The others are just now coming out with products similar but they do not have the same quality of ingredients or protectants. Sure you may get close to the same shine and feel, but #1 rule is a smooth car is not always a detailed car. Also how long a product lasts is a big factor as well. As in my other post, me and my fiances cars have not been detailed in like 4 months and after a good regular washing, they still look as if they were just done. If it's a deal, try it out, but I've always come back to using Meg's for pretty much everything.

hey thanks fellas for all the opinions, i might still give it a try seeing $29.99 is a deal compared to going to the store and buying everything indivisually.Whelan, I see what you are saying, and am very impressed and envious of the work you do i'm kinda like you in a way, I try something new but usually go back to what i know, i grew up helping my dad wash and wax his cars and he lives and dies by Kitt car wash, and Kitt wax, (i'm pretty sure you have heard of it), and thats what i'm stuck on at the moment but seeing your work I might have to introduce dad and myself to something different

I have to give a thumbs up for some of the Ice products, specifically the liquid clay bar and the Synthetic Paste Wax. The best part of the paste wax is that is it safe to use on my roof rack and rear view mirrors (2003 Silver two-tone Vibe GT), and it brought them both back to looking like new. The typical fading on the black mirror housings is virtually gone, replaced with shine and protection. My two cents. If I had more time/money, I'd go strictly Meguiar's Gold Class or NXT, but I don't get around to detailing as often as I would want to. For something that looks good and lasts, the Ice is a good choice.

The problem with the ICE stuff,is that it doesn't last very long.On the plus side it's OK on black trim. Not worth $30 though.

Strangely enough - so did I. My stepdad's factory was producing it at the time, so I got a bunch of it for free.

It's meant as a quick wax, not a solution to waxing itself.
