Hi I just bought a new vibe!

Post by vibedrivermatt »

Hi everybody I just bought a new 2009 vibe. Its pretty awesome, kinda like I have a car from the future...whooa! Anyways Id like to post some pics as soon as I figure out how to work photobucket. Im sorta computer illiterate. I specked the car out with moon roof, premium sound, and 2.4 liter 158hp engine. I went with front wheel drive even though I live in the north east for fuel economy. I've never had a prob driving through snow in a FRdrive car so I thats why I didn't go AWD. I also got the 5 speed manual because I think their fun. The color is carbon metallic black. It looks pretty sweet. Well I pretty much love this car. I only have a few gripes.1. The cheesed out interior: everything made of hard plastic, everything! oh well its still looks pretty nice2. XM satellite radio: I've had a sirius radio before and it is much higher quality. I asked the dealer if there was a way I could switch to sirius and still keep it integrated into the car. They said no.3.Lack of turn by turn nav system: That may not be whats its called but, my vibe does not have this feature found on other new pontiacs. Its a system that has a voice and little screen with arrows that give you directions. I do have onstar which can give directions but I would have to write them down. These minor gripes aside, the new vibe really rocks. I love the built in 110v outlet. Performance is just fine for this type of vehicle. Its no slug the the NY state thruway either. Blasting past trucks with the 2.4liter engine is a breeze. I do notice getting jostled around a bit when hitting big bumps at thruway speeds. I owe this to the short wheelbase and its not that bad really. Im sure all of you other vibe owners already notice this.I don't really have a garage to keep my new vibe in so I bought a very nice cover. Its custom fitted and its on my vibe right now. I like knowing its getting protected from harsh UV rays and other stuff.Well thats all I have to say about if for now, I have some questions Id like to ask later. Thanks for reading my post. Just wish I could change my embarrassing user name. Matt

I haven't really heard much about it lately.

Matt Yeah, I don't have a garage either and I really need to get a cover B4 next fall when all the leaves and stuff start dropping all over my car again. Where did you get your cover? I bought my cover from a website called Californiacarcover.com. They had a big selection of covers made from several different materials. The best way to order is over the phone. That way they can make sure they get you one with more room for a roof rack or not. They also ask where your antenna is. Mine came with a plastic grommet for the antenna which you had install yourself. It was easy to do. The cover is very nice and has a good fit. Is made from a material they called Noah. I was sorta peeved when I saw a big claifornia car cover logo stamped on the front with a 1-800 number on it. You may want to ask them to leave that off if you go with them because they could make it to order. I'll try getting some pics of it on the car so you can see.

I just visited the CCC website and the covers and Noah material look good. Maybe if I paid to get "Vibe" embroidered in Orange they would leave off the CCC logo. I hate big logos too. Yeah it looks like I need to invest in a cover soon. Do post a picture of the cover on yours.

Sure glad to help. Im away from a my vibe right now and its sitting in parking for about a week. I'll get some pics of it with the cover when I get back to it. The cover is really very good. I hope they would leave that logo off if you just asked them too(wish I did). I don't think you should have to get embroidered letters for them to do that. Cool idea though going for that "Vibe" embroidery. I kinda wanted to get "pontiac" done on mine but, didn't.
