Yesterday I got windshield number three. A high center stone chip I only noticed a few weeks ago, last week one blistering hot day it decided to sprout.

I was just getting onto the freeway this morning when I heard the rock hit. Upper left hand corner (in the tinted area). The chip was smaller than a quarter so I figured I'd call to have it 'fixed' after I get to work. About three miles later, I see the crack, about 3-4 inches in either direction from the chip. (Insert swear words) So I figure maybe I'll be lucky and it'll be small enough to still 'fix'... nope, I take my exit and see that the crack grew another 2 inches or so on each end (now all the way to the edge of the windshield on one end). (Insert more swear words). I almost pounded my fist on the steering wheel, but I was affraid that would shatter the windshield and set off the airbag to add to the already great start to my day.

As of yet, my Vibe is the only car I've ever owned that has no cracks/bubbles in the windshield. :/

And here I am, with a new crack. Since it's on the passenger side, I'll hold out until I can't stand to look at it, anymore. Or, at least until this fall. It was about 3" long right after the rock hit it, but by the time I got off the interstate, it was already as long as in the new picture.

ROFL~!!I have a long bent crack. But it will stay there because its not hurting anything and its a long ways away to go to the cheap repair place. I bought my Vibe with it. It has since spread.

Now here's a large ugly crack. And your auto glass guy won't be able to fix it!It's an iPad 2 screen after it was dropped onto a sidewalk while in a minimally-protective carrying case, posted within a week after they were released (Mar 11th, 2011)Disclaimer: Not mine. From a thread on Apple Support Communities.

Had the windshield replaced in September... it now has about 10 rock chips and a single crack that runs along the entire lower portion of the windshield a little higher then the wipers. Good thing I bought the 1 year warranty!... don't ask about the paint.
