Friendly Warning for your Firework Fun

Post by VforVIBE »

This is a little reminder to those who dabble in amateur firework displays at home...Please be CAREFUL!!!Driving in the Vibe on my way home tonight, I almost crashed. Someone was shooting off fireworks, and some how got one to shoot down there little road and out on another street, instead of up, (I'm sure not as they intended) I saw it coming towards me from the right, I braked and swerved to the left, not knowing if it would explode under my Vibe... due to the lack of ABS, my breaks locked up and I was all over the road, luckily there was no one going the opposite direction, and I was able to recover. This could have gone a lot worse, and I just wanted to remind everyone to stay safe.Sometimes, somethings are best left up to the professionals...

I haven't seen good fireworks since Niagra Falls 2004 from the canadian side oddly enough lol.sounds like you had quite the scare. Most people would have probably froze up and let it hit them.

I bet it was that Cobalt guy trying to finish what he started.I don't have anti-lock brakes either, and it can get pretty scarey when you have to lock them up. I had to lock up on the highway one day doing 60 m.p.h. I thought I was going into the semi beside me. Sounds like you did some good defensive driving. You must drive like the tiger, not the kitten.
