Vent Visors (The tinted visor that sticks to the outside of your car over the window)

Post by rob12345 »

What does everybody think of these vent visors and who has them. I have them on my wifes jeep and also on my former vehicle, they are good for keeping the sun out and for keeping the windows open a crack when it rains. My question is with the vibe being so aerodynamic would these add to wind drag reducing mileage??????

i've been thinking of getting the 'in-channel' ones for a while. in fact everytime i'm driving in the rain, i tell myself i've gotta get a set.they seem to mount very close to the profile of the car, so i'd doubt there's any restriction to airflow.

I also have the weathertech ones and love them. Somebody else loved one of my rear vents that they took it off my car. Anyway, I really recommend the front ones but the rear ones I could take or leave. The rear vents don't work as well because if you leave the windows cracked open you will still allow some water in if it rains because when the window goes down there is a crack along one of the sides so water could still leak in there. It is due to the shape of the window, it is trapezoid-like.Mike

I have a set of the In-channel window visors and mine are Weathertech... they are great! You can get the ones Ventvisor makes, but they are thinner plastic and can break much more easily. If you are getting them, I would go ahead and spend a little extra cash and get the Weathertech brand visors... they are well worth it. Mine set me back about $100 bills or so for the full set of 4 and the guy I ordered mine from (a local guy) even installed them for me. The in-channel visors are more tricky to install, but then nothing is stuck to the outside of your doors either. They are very low profile and I don't really notice any wind noise because of them.

I love mine, they really go well on black cars because it kinda lowers the profile of the windows a bit. Plus that ability to crack them in the rain or at the beach while parked makes a HUGE difference.I would post a picture but picturetrail has been blocked from my office so I can't post or view any of my own pictures. Jerks!

Those all look nice, but did he say the Vibe was Aerodynamic? This thing is shaped like a toaster that got stepped on in the front. Lol, I'm only teasing. Thats just a word I don't see connected to my little boxy Vibe, that I love soo much, very often. Do any of the vent visors make noise? Or do they cut down on wind noise on the car?

IIRC it's drag coeff is like .26 and the Corvette is like .30... So Just think about that.On topic... I always have wanted vent visors and never know if it will look funny on the car or not.. but this settled it for me And thanks to Pandora for the same or nearly same color comparison for me.
