Guitar Hero "Guitar" for PS2

Just got a quick question for those of you that play any of the Guitar Heros. My 3 1/2 month old daughter (with help from mom) decided one of my father's day gifts was going to be a guitar hero 3 package. I know I'm "late to the party" with this game, but none the less I've made the plunge into it and having a blast.I am looking to pick up a second guitar for my wife (wireless) and see there are a few different places that sell different brands of guitars. Any brands/places to avoid or definately recommend? My one friend who plays guitar hero a bit...told me only to go with a red octane guitar....Any truth to that? Thanks,Steve

I have a RedOctane wireless guitar for my PS2. I think it's great. No problems at all.

to be honest i've only ever used the wired in ones that come with the games. i've tried the wireless one that came with ps2 version of gh3 and it seemed off. so i went back. my friend says his broke after about 2 months or so of play. and yes, red octane usually has good controllers. their ddr pads are some of the best soft pads. but glad you are liking gh3. you tried "through the fire and flames" yet? hehe, it's one of 2007 top 10 villians. XD

it's "off" cause it's wireless..has a bit of lag..specially on lcd tv's..i have the GH3 for ps3 and im tempted to sell it cause i hit notes and sometimes it never registers in the game so i lose my combo and stuff..it's retarded..through the fire and flames is such an awesome song..very very hard..wanna see something cool..go to youtube and find a video of 10 yr old ben who plays that song on expert and gets 95% on it..

I play GH at my house on my ps2 and then go play with my f-i-l on his xbox 360 and the lag is different. It will take me a few songs each time to adjust my timing to get it right.

ya it's weird..i've tried to calaberate it but everytime i do..say if i do it two or three times in a row..they're all different..they're not steady numbers so i just leave it after awhile, when i had my 360 hooked up to my 19" widescreen monitor, i used to be able to beat alot of songs on expert..even beat through the fire and flames on hard..but ever since i switched to my 42" tv..i can barely pass the song on medium..

Well, I found an easy solution to getting a second guitar.....I just went out and bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith for my wife when it was released on the 29th. She instantly placed her stake on the new guitar and stated it was "her" guitar, and I have my guitar. Right now she is trying to decide what sticker design she wants to go with...myself, I like the more clean "black" look.None the less...the game is a blast.....I'm slowly getting around to playing and getting better.....up to intermediate level now (though not the best at times) and with 2 guitars...it can make for some intense moments between spouses in battle mode.

no. all the scores on scorehero.com are all the closest anybody else has gotten on GH songs. all chuck norris had to do was round house kick to the face Bark at the Moon on easy and he now holds all the records on all the games and all difficulties, even 4. he doesn't need a controller to win.

My brother in-law brought his Wii over to play Guitar Hero.Must have!!! must have!!! )Also played Godfather: Blackhand Edition. Fun game, but it feels like a prequel to GTA.

I have two guitar hero 3 guitars cause the wife bought a second one for herself which she hasn't used yet lol. I'm going to pick up Aerosmith before the weekend I think because we got a couple people coming over for 4th of july and drunkin guitar hero battles are pretty funny. My friend's little kid is a pro on expert mode... I swear he's not a human.
