The Truck before the Vibe

Post by pick41 »

Well traded in this truck on the Vibe about a month ago at a car lot. Well it was bought by someone local. Friends had told me they have seen it running around a few miles from the house, well got a call from my brother, to check out some pictures. Before I go any further, I don't know the guy personally, but through friends that kow him, the kids ok, a concussion, and some bruises, and sounds like he's coming out about $6k ahead on the truck. Well I guess something broke on the steering, hit a tree, rolled it several times, and hit some more trees. Basically its totaled and made me about cry. I know it was just a truck, and now have the Vibe. But I guess most impotant the kids ok.

yikes! and aren't you glad you're not paying the gas to fill it too? still, I understand.... I still see the guy who bought my truck back in 03 when I sold it and got the Vibe GT (now 2 cars later). I still miss it.

A few years ago, I sold my 89 Thunderbird to the son of my Mom's boss. It was a base model (3.8L V6) with 146,000 miles on it. The car ran just fine for me. The kid liked the car but didn't like that it had a V6. His goal was to destroy the engine so his dad would put a V8 in. Well, he succeeded in destroying the engine (head gaskets blew), but then he ran it into a ditch and into a fence. I haven't seen the car since, but I'm sure it's not a pretty sight anymore.

No respect at all for the car.

So let me get this strait, you purchased the truck broken/rolled/every body panel damaged/frame bent, then you fixed it good as new? Then traded it for the Vibe? My Question is why would you even spend time on a truck that damaged? The work you did to it to bring it back up to like new quality is amazing, but damn.

No, I bought the truck used in 03 in good shape. Traded the truck in on the Vibe about a month ago. The picture of the truck totaled, was 2 weeks after I traded it in, and the new owner had wrecked it. Had the truck 5 years, had done some mods to it, High Perfomance Clutch, Full 4" Exhaust, Intake, Chipped it, wheel's & tires. So it was 350+ hp, and 750+ torque. Fun little truck.
