I got my '09 GT for about 19,900 with 5sp auto & sunroof. I think that's about 40 below invoice, 1750 below sticker. Included a 500 "Conquest" rebate. Not bad. SF Bay area.

what is this 'conquest' rebate and is it US only? my dealer in canada said he can't do anything on the pricing and no rebates of any kind. And how do you get 'invoice' pricing?

You can get the dealer invoice at edmunds.com. The Conquest rebate is for owners of '00 or newer non-GM vehicles. Don't know if it's US only or not... it's not even advertised here for '09s, but it is there.

At least in the U.S., the invoice has a few items that you do not see on Edmunds or any other car pricing site. The biggest is a regional/local advertising fee. That is about $350-400 in most areas. There is also a charge for "customer contact" and for "gas". Also in the U.S. there is a "holdback" that the dealer gets later - equal to 3% of msrp not including the destination charge. Dealers are loathe to deal away their holdback. To complicate matters dealers sometimes get incentive money. Probably none on the Vibe.So when a dealer advertises $100 over invoice" you need to recognize that the actual invoice is about $400 more than you will see at Edmunds, and also there is that 3% holdback and maybe some incentive money. This is a pretty accurate way to calculate a Vibe dealer invoice:Dealer cost on the base prices is 94.5%Dealer cost on the options is 88%Dealer cost on the destination is 100%Add $400 for the ad fees etc.Dealer holdback on a $20,000 + 585 dest fee = 3% x 20,000 = $600In Ohio the dealer also makes money on the $250 doc fee most charge. $100 is probably closer to a reasonable amount. If anyone here has any better information - please share.if you fall for any of the vastly overpriced optional stuff they try to sell you such as paint protection, fabric protection etc. Lord help you!

Wow... good information. I paid about $40 below what Edmunds called the invoice price.
