It's all over the country my friend. I was laid off in Ohio about 6 months ago and moved back to Montana to find a job. Needless to say I'm still looking and my last unemployment claim went in today. There are things that I want to do to my car too, but first and foremost I need to find that job. This thread should probably be in off-topic BTW.
geez, i guess i feel lucky. i moan and ***** sometimes about being in the army, but i am lucky its an employer with job security. good luck in your job hunt man.

Lots of people believe the worst is over, and we should start seeing a turnaround soon...so keep your faith my friends, your mods are coming down the line soon!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
yes I also believe the worst is over and there should be plenty of jobs coming around the corner soon so hold your heads high you will find a job in no time.
Most of the economy around here is driven by a navy base, so there's not been much visible downturn locally, but there's a lot of folks hurting. Got some family in flood city PA, and that town's a wasteland after the mill closed some years back. Glad I'm not in charge. Probably wouldn't give tax cuts though. Your vote is your voice, although it doesn't seem to really matter, unless you're in Florida. My first rule of economics is "Bills will always rise to meet the income", but that's no help if you've been laid off. Best bet is to get your priorities straight. If you don't have the disposable income, then spending what you can't afford to customize a car for whatever reason wouldn't be rational. I mean, would you rather eat, or cruise in a tricked out ride? I prefer food myself. Shelter is also big on my list.
quote:the harder i work, the more i get paid, the more things start to cost Boy, that sure is true! I've had several windfalls this year - tax refund, unexpected bonus from work, large christmas gifts, moonlight consulting business going like gangbusters.... Has meeting this weekend with the wife to discuss how are savings is still the same place it was 6 months ago!
