best stock tires

Post by jengels »

Hello Everyone,Just got a 2003 vibe about 2 months ago and love it. Out of all the cars I've owned its been the most fun to drive. Anyway, my question. It needs new tires. I just want to put some nice stock tires on the current rims. Anyone know the best brand that will have the best ride and low noise on the Vibe? Goodyear is out. Had too many problems with them. Thanks!John

Everything I've heard about the stock tires has been terrible. I put some Toyo's on my Vibe about a year ago and they have been great. I also went up in size to 205/60/16. Little softer ride, and the speedometer seems to be more accurate.

If you're not buying snow tires and you are in Michigan, you might look at Michelin Hydroedge since you don't like Goodyear. The TripleTred is the best all season in the snow.

There AREN'T and good "stock" tires(unless you buy a sports car), the auto manufactures buy tires in bulk for the cheapest they can while meeting thier goals...

I haven't used them on my Vibe yet but my experience with Cooper Cobras over the past 10 years, or so, has been excellent. I live in the mountains of North Carolina where we get a fair amount of snow in winter and the Cobras have proven to be an excellent all-season choice for me. I put my first set on a 1993 Subaru Legacy 5-speed and used them on a 95 wagon, a 99 Outback, a 2003 Forester (my wife's) and expect to have them on the 2007 Vibe by winter.dc3
