Lost my Nipples...

Post by Retroactive »

O.k, here is the story.I was driving down 635, one of the local death trap hwys in my area, and out of NOWHERE a cooler ended up in my path and I took the f'er out.Damage report:I'm not sure what they are called but you know those plastic "nipples" that keep your wheel well plastic together, the plastic that keeps crap off your engine. Lost about 5 of them. Does anyone know where I can get those things so I can button it all back together?Also...This is a 2007 vibe, with the gray rubbermade like bumper. To the of the left fog light, and the right of the right fog light there is an opening. I can remember if there was a grill there or not. It seems like there should be, but now it's just an opening....Thanks for your time.

You can find replacements for the "nipples" (I don't know what they are called either) at most auto parts stores. As far as the open spaces near the fog lights, there should be grills in there. It sounds like you lost both of them. You will have try the dealer or junkyard for those.

Thank you, ace responses as usual......One more question, and at this point I'm sure I'm obsessing a bit BUT.The entire front right side looks like it's dropped down a little...we are talking something less then a quarter of an inch lower. I can tell cause the gap between the headlight and the bumper assembly is just a little bit larger on the right headlight then the left.Is there any way to tighten this up a bit?? If not it's cool, it could have been WAY worse if that cooler was airborn when I hit it.

It's very possible you broke one of the mounts for the bumper cover as well

Are you talking about the 2 major mounts that the bumper connects to your car with? I'll look again, but I seem to recall they looked good.I'll say this, the bumper on the side the cooler ended up under does seem to have a little bit more play in it, but I attributed that to the trim retainer clips no longer connecting the trim together.Stopping by O'Reilly on the way home tonight to get replacement clips....I'll have a better look at it then.
