OEM radio CD player issues

Post by Whelan »

So my 05 Matrix radio is acting up. I have one CD in there and when I went to load in another one today and it gave me the following.First it read Error 3 flashing a few times. When I hit load it tells me the disc is full. And when I hit eject it just flashes a few times Eject, then after ten seconds shuts off. Very random. Would resetting the battery solve the issue? What else could be wrong?

hard to say. While GM kept the radio pretty much the same, Toyota went back to their own beginning in 05, so your radio is significantly different than most people's here. Disconnecting the battery is probably an easy first thing to try. What happens if you press and hold the eject button? I know the GM radios get hot inside, so its a good idea to never use any home made paper/adhesive labels on CDs, the glue melts, makes a mess inside the drive. Hope that's not your problem.

If I do anything it will be another stock radio, not up for aftermarket looks. I'm kinda pissed cause it just worked the other day.
