3000 miles and pulling left

Post by Gootch »

New to the forum, my first post. i read many alignment threads but have a couple of questions.- my '08 vibe has pulled to left since birth (It is 3000 miles young).- dealer checked alignment and said it was right on.- rotated tires, no change whatsoever.- have checked tire pressure at least 12 times, it is always right on.so, are these things a challenge to align? i had to get my daughter's matrix aligned twice and it still drifts slightly.Better question, does anyone know a good front end person in St. louis, Mo?

wow never had alignment issues with my vibe, until i lowered it, then it would pull but then i had an alignment done. I just had the dealer realign my ms3. Take it to the dealer, if its real pronounced take them for a ride in it, show them. then have them do it again for free (should be under warranty). It shouldnt pull to much at all, they do naturally pull if the road is grooved or slanted though.

Could it be the rutted roads up there? I hate some of them. Was at the airport last week and hit some rutted roads. My 03 gt does not pull just wears out the little fat tires. I got some bigger ones last week. Frontend man say no problem with my frontend allignment.Dan

Hmmm, I could see it pulling right on crowned northern roads, but not left so much... Take it somewhere else, OTHER than the dealer and have it checked... I don't trust dealers for NOTHING..

Shouldn't have to pay to get a new car to work correctly. I agree with northvibe's suggestion to make a dealer service person ride along to demonstrate the problem. Welcome to genvibe! Why did you buy a Vibe instead of another Matrix? How do the two compare?

hmm, got vibe since it is USA, $1000 rebate for last year model, $1250 rebate for already owning a GM, $2000 from GM because my '03 astro broke 3 times right after warrantee was up. bottom line, i got it for $14,000 new. matrix is auto, vibe is stick. matrix barely gets 30MPG highway, vibe has been getting 36 mpg. matrix seems more solid...time will tell.

latest on the left pull saga - dealer put it back on the alignment rack. says front is in spec, like right in the middle. says rear end is off. shims are on order. anyone else have vibe rear end alignment experience? stay tunned for the next episonde of will "Gootch ever find true happiness with his new vibe?'

My car with almost 30k will pull to either side, and it's more noticeable at lower speeds. I believe it's probably the power steering somehow giving more pressure than need be, exaggerating any steering correction or slight-off center steering position.

when i bought my car it didn't drift at all since my...what now... i think 4th alinement due to my coilover issue the car does drift to the passenger side just a touch. It's with in speck except for the camber which is NOT adjustable on the front with out ADDing camber bolts that you can buy after market. Once I go and buy those I hope that the drifting will stop because my camber is out quite a bit. Now i know most people will say camber will not effect the drifting but i disagree because if one tire has quite a bit more camber then the other one tire will be "|__" and the other tire will be like that one will pull.

latest - dealer said rear end was off. i took it in for scheduled fix. then dealer said his machine did not have the right software. dealer sent it to local alignment "experts". dealer said they charged him $450 to shim align rear and then redo front. end result - car still pulls to left (less than before) and expert set the steering wheel so that it is cocked approx 5 degrees!!! I have showdown with GM big shot tuesday. Stay tunned to the continuing saga.

left hand turns

Post by Gootch »

after two weeks of hard use; puttin down gravel roads with canoes and kayaks on the roof and a few hundred miles on interstate i declined the offer to meet with rep. why? it has self healed??? Actually the full alignment helped a hundred fold. pull to left is very, very slight and i have no time. so, now i am of to tint windows, put some tweeters in my side sails (trying to match the sound of my kids matrix).AND, find a HD radio that will also play disks with apple format (AAC) music files....anyone know of one?thanks for all the advice and support on the daytona speedway left turn pull.

Hey all, first post!

I'm having a very similar problem. Bought my '07 Vibe in May of this year (2013) with 50k miles.

Even while test driving at low speeds, I noticed a slight pull towards the passenger side. I had a tire go flat after it sat for a week, replaced with a used one. Said tire never fully held air, so last week I bought 4 brand new tires hoping that would fix the pull. I also had an alignment check done that showed the front end was within spec, but the rear was slightly out. I never followed up with the alignment.

It now seems to pull towards the drivers side. It's always been a hard enough pull that if I drive for a long distance, my arms and shoulders are fatigued from fighting the steering.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
