Rusted Head on Rear Window Mounting Plugs

Post by Mojo72 »

One of the "plugs" holding the rear window wiper lost the black exterior finish to rust and is now looking very bare and nasty. Can these mounts be replaced or am I better off painting it with Rustoleum in a satin black finish?

i would say yes from my experiences, but i'm not sure how it was done. when i had my hatch window smashed and the shop "repaired" the damage they were all scratched and marred as if they used a vice grip to put them in. they replaced them with unscratched ones and other problems too.
None. Vibe is gone.

Looks like I'm getting some black Rustoleum spray paint and masking tape. Anythings better than that rusty "pimple" on my back glass. I'll post my results in the forum.

if theres rust, sand it, prime, paint, clear coat otherwise the rust will eat threw the paint and/or paint will chip off real quick.
