Cosmo intake question

Post by kunkstyle »

Wow - I'm full of questions tonight.... this is kind of a spinoff from my other thread. After getting a 0441 code (purge solenoid) recently, I was doing some research and thinking what the possible solutions were. For anybody who has an aftermarket intake, what did you do with the VSV (vacuum switching valve)?A buddy and myself installed the CAI, and while I was putting on the filter, he covered my VSV with electrical tape to protect the contacts, and zip tied it to another line. Wondering if a) does this mean the VSV is nothing (assuming so, as it's not connected to anything), abd b) is it possible to have the VSV working with an aftermarket intake so I don't get this code?
