Ramp for loading heavy items into Vibe's hatchback ?

Post by dalemccl »

I have a 2006 Vibe and would like to find some type of ramp device to allow loading things like a lawnmower or power washer into theback by myself. Something long enough that the angle of ascent isn't too steep. Also light weight and easy to store, and that can be carried in the hatch to use when unloading the mower, etc. away from home (so maybe something that folds up when not in use.) Do any of you use such a device? If so could you tell me the brand and where to buy it? Thanks.

Should be able to pick up some aluminum ramps at the local Home Depot or similar store

I've seen ramps for dogs to get up into SUVs that hook onto the deck/bumper. You may want to Google that and see what you find this one has a 500lb capacityhttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas...16984this one has less weight capacity, but doesn't have the side railshttp://www.discountramps.com/e...p.htmThere are also wheelchair/scooter ramps if you have more $$http://www.portable-wheelchair...Uyfigor tracks for less $$http://www.discountramps.com/a...s.htmSorry, i got carried away with the Googling Shoot for a mere 20 Grand, you can have your very own HALFPIPE!http://www.discountramps.com/half-pipe.htm

i think the tracks that moongdss posted up(the 4th link) would be best for the lawnmower or anything with 4 wheels like that..the other ones you'd have to get 2 of them in order to get a lawn mower up there

There was a company here in London that was going to be making some inexpensive folding aluminum ramps, they might have been the thing you are looking for, the EZ Access "trifold" looks really close to what they were going to build: http://www.homecareproducts.com/ramps/ramps.html also check out the "suitcase" seriesor these:http://www.lucanus.ca/Mediequi...s.htm or these:http://www.literamp.com/

We have a park near me, all metal ramps, all with rather SHARP edges everywhere... I don't even bother anymore... not to mention they are sooooooooo slippery..
