Don't compare the Vibe to cars like tha Cavalier, Impala, and silverado. They are in different categories. The cars you listed are more mainstream. The Vibe is targeted at a select segment. The best way to compare the Vibes monthly sales is to compare it to the Matrix, Protoge5, PT Cruiser, Suzuki Areo(sp), Honda Element, Subaru Impreza Wagon, and Focus zx5. That will tell you how it is doing in its market segment. Better to compare oranges to oranges.

If they sold 63,349 Vibes in one month they would have none for the rest of the year. All the vehicles you listed have much higher production capacities.
quote:Don't compare the Vibe to cars like tha Cavalier, Impala, and silverado. I mentioned those other vehicles not to try to show how the VIbe was selling compared to other similar/related vehicles. I thought that it was interesting to see how many more were sold out of the GM product line. The Vibe is the only car like a Vibe in the GM line. However, if GM sells five thousand Vibes, but sells four times as many Cavaliers, almost five times as many Impalas, and about 12 times as many pickups, then it really seems like Gm is either not very successful marketing the Vibe, or maybe they're not really trying. Lots of threads about people upset with GM for lack of aftermarket support. I know you can't necessarily correlate sales to manufacturer ambition, but I feel GM isn't really backing the Vibe. I have never seen a Vibe commercial on TV, but it seems like every third one is for a Chevy truck. "Like a rock" (good thing chevy doesn't make boats) I like having an uncommon car. If anyone wants to be anonnymous, they should drive a Chrysler minivan. I wish the dealres around here would sell more Vibes though, so their service departments would get more familiar with it. I'm sure they know the Silverados completely, but have had almost no experience with VibesSo, i just posted some other figures from the site that was linked. I should have been more explicit in the nature of the comparison. You wanted oranges to oranges. I guess I was going more for how many oranges there were in the fruit basket. So, how does the Vibe compare to sales of Matrix, Protoge5, PT Cruiser, Suzuki Areo(sp), Honda Element, Subaru Impreza Wagon, and Focus zx5?

I found Toyota's May sales figures but I think they lumped the Matrix sales in with the Corolla number .I do agree that they don't market the Vibe enough, but in away I like being in the minority when it comes to what type of car I own.

I have heard, haven't seen, that this means the Vibe has outsold the Matrix in 6 of the last 7 months.Update: I'll fax my number source and gets some figures in a couple days.
I know it was stratching it, but they are both aimed at the same market. For being an ugly car they car flying off the dearler lots down here. I am curious to know how well it is doing.
