NEW Indiana Jones movie!

Post by Lancer »

Took the family out to see it while staying in the Dells Friday night. This is the BEST Indiana movie of all, put together! I tryed to do a little research to get the real story of the crystal skulls and was seft more confused about there mystique. But the storyline in the movie was very entertaining. It was also nice that they brought some people from the first movie back, to tie up some loose ends. With a nice suprise at the end. This time instead of fighting the nazi's, the secret op's semi-retired war hero Indiana is going up against the Russians. Looking for a 'weapon' that can be used to control peoples minds. He's aided by a young Fonzie looking man (shilo lebuf) whose mother (The girl from the first movie, can't remember her name?), was kidnapped by the russians to help convince Indiana to find the Crystal skull and return it to it's original resting place.Tha's all I'll say about it for now. I know how everyone hates spoilers.Definatly a must see and worth the $10 to see it on the big screen.

We went to see it yesterday and we liked it. I wouldn't go as far as others and say that it was my fave (I like Raider's of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade much better), but it was good.I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I can think of a couple things I would've left out/changed and it would've gone from darn good to fantastic.

The movie was exaclty what I expected from spielburg and lucas given how the newer starwars was done. They seemed to have to have over the top scenes, some to the point of being unbelievable and then of couse the cheesey factor of some scenes, A good movie still, but they both seem like they have to prove they are still on top by going way over on effects/actions equences.

WARNING - SPOILERS!I was quite pleased. I'm a big Indy fan, so I was prepared for a letdown, as Lucas doesn't have a great record with reinvigorating franchises (Star Wars - Episode 1).We saw it yesterday, and I left feeling glad that they chose to make this sequel. I found the story to not be as engaging as Raiders or Last Crusade, but it was certainly superior to Temple of Doom. I really liked the fact that the CGI use was restrained, and somewhat subtle, so it didn't distract or feel out of Indy continuity (though I didn't care for the CGI gophers and monkeys). I wasn't too emotionally involved with the threat of the Soviets, as they didn't seem as menacing as the Nazis did in the other films, but they were still a decent plot device.I really appreciated how Indy's character was aged in the film. Not only was he physically aged, he also showed some emotional growth, particularly when he referenced Henry Sr. I also liked how they fleshed out a bit of Indy's backstory; like his work during WWII, and Mutt and his discussion about how Indy served with Pancho Villa (which was a direct reference to the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles series). As a fan, I absolutely loved that Marion was back, and how the ending with her proceeded. It was certainly put in as fan service, but I totally appreciate it. Out of all the women Indy's been involved with (including those in the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles series), she's the only one who could go toe to toe with him.Overall, I give it a solid B grade. It worked, and I didn't feel as though I wasted my time seeing it.

I liked the movie, but like the other movies I thought all the endings left a little to be desired. Then there is the one on one fight seen that goes on for WAY to long, just like the fist seen in the last crusade on the tank.Very entertaining, but some better and more entertaining movies will be out. I liked Iron man quite a bit better.
