Same ACL that you hear all the sports guys blowing out....I woke up the other day and Ruzz-T wasn't using one of his legs... it wouldn't be the first time this happened, he's hirt things plenty of times, no problems usually... I guess this time was different.. After I left for work my GF called me and said he wouldn't get out of the bed and while he wasn't crying or anything (big hard **S like his pop) But I told her to call the vet anyway.. They told her it could be his back though, and it was, he'd likely have to be put down.... bad knews... So, I decide to leave work and go to the vet appointment, and after and X-ray and exam while under anstisia, Blown ACL... WHEW... So, he's hobbling around, acting like he's not hurt... lol.... but, weeks to come will tell the true take of how bad it is...
hope he gets better. can they do surgery for that??

Best wishes to your pooch. I had a dog that was shot by an idiot in the spine. He managed to drag himself across the hayfield to my porch when my now ex-wife call me at work. I left and came straight home. He had to be put down. The deputy/K9 that came over was able to track the blood trail with his dog. They ended up finding the @#$ who did it though. His neighbor seen the man and two others shooting at signs nearby, (along with drinking beer), and watched them shoot my dog and try a second time but missed. He was charged and sentenced to criminal mischief, animal cruelty, wanton disregard for public safety, and other thing. The animal cruelty got him 3-5 yrs though, along with a fine and confiscation of all his firearms. Even with that it still doesn't bring back a "friend". Good luck to you

You are lucky you are in North America...you have options of *the very best* of care-neurology vet specialists, vet universities, canine blood banks and even rehab. Now they even do canine hip replacements. I wish you all the best in your baby's fast recovery Please keep us updated!
I'm glad it wasn't more serious. Good luck with his recovery.

Sorry to hear about your dog's leg. Hope he gets better soon. My Zephyr was limping this weekend not putting any pressure on his left rear leg while walking, but he would stand on it while peeing...Monday, he started putting pressure back on it again, although he is still limping...He is going in this week for a checkup.

Thanks everyone, I know my situation isn't as bad as some that have posted here... But he's doing good, doesn't even seem to need the pain meds at ALL ... he's a tough guy.. lol.. HawaiiPontiacLover - Yeah, I know the back thing isn't a death sentence, but, i'm of the type that wouldn't want my buddy in any sorts of pain.. so it very well "could" have been, things (life and death) are looked at a little differently around here...I know of people (I just sold a set of lowering srings to a guy) that have thier Dash'es in the mini-wheel chairs.. I just don't know If I could allow it after him being so active... I don't know, it never panned out for me to have to worry about it, so, i'm trying NOt to think about it... Nero-surgery would have been a non-option... If it came down to that, I hate to say this, but I would have taken the "other" option... I love my dog with all of my heart, but i'm not going to turn him into an "investment" to get a little longer... I'd rather spend the money on pet taxidermy... not to offend...
